Gombe-Based CBOs Receive N20 Million to Promote Peace and Human Rights

Community-Based Organisations (CBOs) in Gombe State have received financial support totalling N20 million, courtesy of a project jointly funded by Bread for the World and the European Union, and implemented by the TEKAN Peace Desk.

This initiative, under the Faith for Peace programme, aims to empower grassroots actors in advancing peacebuilding, human rights, democracy, and religious tolerance across Nigeria.

During the disbursement ceremony, Mrs Helen Philemon, Coordinator of the TEKAN Peace Desk, announced that this third phase of funding would benefit 15 CBOs drawn from three local government areas. According to her, the organisations were carefully selected following a rigorous screening process.

Mrs Philemon urged the beneficiaries to demonstrate selflessness and unwavering commitment to the cause of peace and development in their communities.
