In our
contemporary society, the internet has become the second home of a larger
percentage of its users. Websites and applications now offer different types of
beneficial services. Researchers and even learners alike are not left out in
this innovation. E-library or digital applications have been put in place by
developers for the purpose of easy accessibility of knowledge. There are not so
many digital libraries for lawyers in Nigeria. For a mention, Law Pavilion may
come to mind. Have you heard of the Easy Read library application?
Here we will
consider the EasyRead library application out of the numerous study
applications in the Google App Store. We will basically look at the app’s
registration process, its interface, the process of purchase, and the group of
persons it is basically meant for.
Just like the
physical library, the EasyRead library application, as the name implies, is an
application where books are stored up for interested readers to peruse. The
books in this application all have price tags. They can be accessed for reading
only after registration is completed, and purchases are done within the app.
Trust me, the prices are affordable.
The registration
process is quite an easy one. Once you have the app installed on your mobile
from the Google Play Store, you click on OPEN, and it takes
you to page for registration. There you will see, ‘‘Create your
account; quickly create an account in a minute; get started’’. Once
you click on ‘get started’ it takes you to another page. There you will
see, sign in, and also sign up. While a new
user clicks on sign up to create an account. A person who had registered
earlier can sign in by imputing his phone number and password used during the
registration in spaces provided in the app. To create an account, you can click
on ‘‘get started’’. You are to type in your first name, last
name, email address, phone number, and password. You will be sent a
verification mail for the confirmation of your email. Only after then are you
deemed eligible and ushered into the main interface, where the books are
shelved. In this main interface, there are basically four columns to explore.
They are: Reading Now, Book Store, Library,
and Personalise columns. There is a search bar at the top.
There is a log-out logo at the top right end and a notification bell beside it.
At the top left end is an icon, which you can click on to see your profile. The
Reading Now column is where you can find books you have opened recently. At the
top of it, you see ‘Start Reading’ embroidered in blue. If you click on start
reading, it will take you to the Library column. The Library column shows only
purchased books. That is, if you have made any purchase, the purchased book
will be displayed there; otherwise, it is empty. The Book Store column shows
the various books available in the app with prices beneath. The Personalise
column shows Reader Settings. In this column, you can decide the theme of the
app or the colour of the application background you desire.
To make a
purchase, you click on your desired text. You will be taken to the interface
where payment is to be done online. Methods of payment are: credit card, where
your card digits will be required. Others include USSD, Bank, and Bank
Transfer.
The easy-read
library application is basically an application for books written by Oboagwina
O. Caleb, Esq. The application has books like EasyRead Series on Criminal
Litigation, Easyrread Series on Corporate Law Practice, EasyRead Series on
Multiple Choice Questions and Answers, EasyRead Series on Civil Litigation,
etc.
The EasyRead
library application is an application beneficial to all those who have
law-related tasks or jobs. Law researchers, law students, young lawyers, etc.
will all find this app useful. Indeed, the EasyRead library application is a
welcomed innovation.
