Man As A Son by Ebi Robert

The first man, Adam, was created as a son to have dominion over the works of God's hand;  (Luke 3:38, Genesis 2:15) to exercise authority as a king here on earth, bringing out God's design on the things already created, to the satisfaction of God.

But when sin entered into the world, man lost his authority to the devil, and the devil became a father over him, thereby, making man no longer a son in God's sight. (John 8:44).

As a son that man was, he was to rule in God's stead, bringing out God's will upon creation.

Below are some of the facts about man as a son:

1. He was a king over the earth;

2. He was love personified (Genesis 1:26);

3. He was not subject to death which means he was eternal;

4. He had no age as he was not limited by time;

5. He was ever young, never frail;

6. He was neither a black nor white man. The Glory of God overshadowed him;

7. He could regulate the weather, command even the elements for his own purpose;

8. Sicknesses and diseases were not part of him;

9. He could communicate with the animals at will;
10. He had no limitation in his memory. He could never forget anything around and about him. Hence, he could name all the animals and forgot none thereafter.

11. His spiritual eyes were opened, so he could access the spirit realm;

12. The Angels were under him, etc.

All these became a thing of the past when Adam sinned and then he became nothing. Below are some of the things that happened when he sinned:

1. His authority was lost to the devil (Luke 4:6);

2. Satan redesigned him by inputting his cursed nature into him;

3. His spiritual eyes were closed automatically;

4. God left him;

5. His animals became corrupt as well;

6. His animals no longer recognized his voice anymore;

7. His animals became enemies to themselves;

8. Adam decision brought war upon the earth;

9. He became a mortal and could die;

10. His sin made the clock to start ticking. Hence, time began, no more eternity for him;

11. The Angels become better than him;

12. He could not help himself;

13. He became a slave to the devil;

14. He sold out his unborn children to the devil for earthly punishment and perhaps even an eternal punishment, save for the mercies of God which fetched them out (Romans 8:20);

I can go on and on. These were the lot of man but for God's Love, man was redeemed and has now been given back his position as a son. (Romans 8:15, Galatians 4:6).

Man is now a son through the work of Christ. But all he needs to do is BELIEVE. If he does believe, he shall become that which God initially ordained at the beginning. Everything is back to status quo, yet, not exactly in the form of things as they were, albeit, he remains a son even now. Some of the things that have not changed in form for the now are:

1. That, man is a son does not mean he can walk naked without being ashamed as it was at the beginning. Remember, while one may be a son, there are other men that are not. Imagine you walking naked without being ashamed while others are aware you are!

2. Man cannot exercise his authority expressly  like Adam did before now. Now, he must do it through the NAME OF JESUS (Philippians 2:9, 1st Timothy 2:5).

3. Though a son, he remains a mortal being, pending when the redemption of his body will take place. So being a son now does not automatically take away mortality from him.

4. The Holy Spirit needs to help him stand now. Adam had God's nature and that was enough. But now, the Holy Spirit is paramount, else Satan will make him fall;

5. There is now a war between him and the Devil, before now, it wasn't so. (Genesis 3:15,  Ephesians 6:15)

6. Man now tills the ground in sweat: before now it wasn't so;

7. The Sun, moon, and the stars are no longer pure. Man's  redemption does not automatically make them pure. (Jobs 25:25) Polluted they shall remain, until new elements are brought to replace them. For God has no pleasure in them.

8. Man eating of flesh continues, until everything is finally restored, etc.
The limitation we face today is only temporal, a time will come when man shall operate as man and son in the perfection of everything. God is only asking us to now know who we are as SONS, far higher than the angels; second only to the God head.
